Robert Hyde is a former industry professional and co-founder of the International Registry for Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias.
Trained as a scientist, Rob’s career spans 35 years across roles in basic research, clinical development and medical affairs with pharma companies including Ciba Geigy, Roche, Serono and Biogen. He built and led teams and initiatives in R&D, Global Medical education and training as well as data generation. His experience in development spans multiple therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiovascular, metabolic and neurological diseases.
He specialised in MS where he developed one of the first interferons which he launched with 7 additional agents over 25 years. During this time Rob has pioneered real world evidence generation and registry collaborations in MS and SMA. He was a catalyst for multiple research projects, the Big MS Data formation and the drove other national safety and outcomes initiatives including OPTIMISE, UK and SMArt Care in Germany.
As an independent he has supported a clinical trial data sharing initiative under the direction of the NMSS and Progressive MS Alliance, he supports the International PRO in MS as a member of the scientific steering committee and acts as an advisor to MORE Europa (IHI initiative).
